Rumor: New Mac mini?

This purported new edition of the mini adding up to 5 USB ports, replaces the FireWire 400 port with an 800, and replaces the DVI/VGA connector with both Mini DisplayPort and Mini DVI outputs. The leaker claimed the new mini will have a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 3MB L2 cache, 2GB RAM DDR III, 1066MHz, Super Drive is SATA. However, 9to5Mac has pretty much debunked this image as a fake (as most pre-release Apple spy shots tend to be) thanks to a reader’s close inspection of the image’s artifacts as well as the fact that the ports don’t align with the motherboard. SunCats Solar Rechargeable Battery by Knut Karlsen

These prototype solar powered rechargeable batteries called SunCats is designed by Knut Karlsen, is a set of old NiMH rechargeable batteries wrapped in a flexible Photo Voltaic cell created by the Institute for Energy Technology. When low-batt just leave them exposed to sunlight and they will recharge themselves. The PV cells were glued on the battery and wired up using a conductive silver pen and some flat wires found from a broken canon lens. It is still weak in charging at the moment but Knot envisions that a second version with built-in capacitors and electronics will make the charging more efficient.
